NEW! - NEW! - NEW! - NEW! -NEW!

Dear Readers,

My name is Teresa Hodge and I'd like to take a minute of your time to introduce Allen Russell as a new contributing columnist at North American Outdoor Sports.com as of November 2006. I'm Allen's agent, publicist and partner in several television projects. Allen has been a hunter and outdoorsman for more years than he likes to admit. He has been a licensed professional guide in Montana for more than twelve years, with a perfect client-success record for mule deer and pronghorn antelope. Allen is the owner of the Split Rail Outdoors Group, a worldwide outdoor adventure consultant service. www.splitrailoutdoors.com He has hunted all over the U.S. as well as Canada and New Zealand. He is the host and executive producer of our television show, "Split Rail Outdoors" that has been airing in Tennessee for over three years. Allen has recently signed an agreement with Web Broadcast Network Seven and Super Highway Productions to appear in a new outdoor reality show called "The Guide and the Greenhorn". It will be something really different in outdoor programming and produced in association with my company, Lonesome Wind Productions.           "The Guide and the Green Horn" will be broadcast over the internet at first and then on one of the major TV networks later. That means that everyone with a high-speed connection, anywhere in the world will be able to watch. We are currently running "Split Rail Outdoors" until the new show is up and ready. We have already had viewers from Africa, Mexico, Canada, Israel, and all over the U.S. You can sign on and watch at www.wbn7.com The producers of "The Guide and the Greenhorn" are giving away a Free African Safari! The winner will accompany Allen and myself to South Africa in 2007 for an all expenses paid, plains game safari, and appear on the show. See the website for details. Allen is also a great western writer. He has three published western novels and several short stories. The website for his books is www.allenrussellbooks.com   Allen is a member of the Western Writers of America, The Single Action Shooting Society and The Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association. I know you will enjoy Allen's contributions to North American Outdoors.com and we would love to hear from you. Sincerely, Teresa Hodge, President, Lonesome Wind Productions,  www.lonesomewind.com

Lacey Layton- My passion is hunting and my purpose is to make a career out of the sport I love by bringing others information and stories that will give them enjoyment as well. Please allow me to tell you a little about myself, my background, and why I have chosen the great outdoors to be my office.
I can remember well the day I shot my first squirrel with my old .22 rifle I nicknamed "Little Eva." I remember how my dad was so proud of me and I knew then that I too was going to be a hunter.
As I grew older I continued to hunt faithfully. Now at the age of twenty-three I've had the opportunity to hunt small game like squirrel and rabbits to bigger game such as turkey, deer, and elk. I'm a lucky girl to have grown up in southern Missouri in a family of hunters. I've gained respect and knowledge for the outdoors and wildlife through all my hunting experience and I'll tell you, I cherish every moment!
I've lived on a farm all my life. Feeding cows, hunting, and riding horses is how I grew up. After graduating high school in ninety-seven I went to college and studied agriculture. I graduated last May with a degree in Animal Science. Shortly after that I headed west to Montana where I married, my husband, Josh Sanders. He also loves to hunt. Together we make a great pair and even better hunting partners!
When I'm not working or doing chores I'm shooting my rifles or bow. I like to practice and get ready for the upcoming hunting season. I also enjoy writing stories about my hunting adventures and my preparation for them.
My goal is to make a career in the hunting industry. I've met a lot of great people who have given me advice on making my dreams come true like Dieter Kaboth (RMEF and Knight & Hale,) and Harold Knight (Knight & Hale). Someday I will make it happen but until then I'll just keep on hunting. If you'd like to write me my e-mail address is laceylayton@aol.com.

Dennis Murawska-a licensed professional with a Masters degree in biology, and over fifteen years experience in the art of fish taxidermy. An outdoor writer for The Week newspaper as well, I have published research and technical articles on taxidermy and aquatic life in Outdoor Notebook, the International Guild of Taxidermy, and Freshwater and Marine Aquarium. Here in southern Wisconsin, I see a vast range of the most commonly mounted species.from trout and salmon taken in the nearby Great Lakes, to huge musky and northern pike. Bass, bluegill, crappie, perch, gar, catfish, sturgeon... all are found in the state of Wisconsin. I work with many local guides and shop owners who have come to rely on the consistent quality provided at Angler's Art. Yearly trips to the Bahamas and extensive underwater experience snorkeling and spear fishing the reefs have acquainted me with the commonly caught game species of saltwater fishes.

Jon Crawford Payne-I have been fishing for over thirty years and I receive my personal satisfaction from helping others enjoy all that the Pacific Northwest has to offer. Steelhead fishing the coastal rivers of Oregon and Fly fishing the high mountain lakes of the Oregon Cascades, I do it! Whether casting delicate dry flies to rising McKenzie River Trout or Drifting the Umpqua for Small mouth Bass, I want you to see what Mother Nature has provided us. It is my experience that by drifting on rivers one can truly appreciate nature. Being on the river you can see, feel, and hear all that is truly grand in the GREAT PACIFIC NORTHWEST
